Lucas joined Rawtec in 2022 after completing a Bachelor of Science with Honours in soil science. He had previously worked in the South Australian organics recycling sector.
He has a strong grounding in chemistry and soil science, along with experience in analytical and research laboratories. That sits alongside practical experience in industrial operations and a real facility for science communication, which is what makes technical findings usable by the people who have to act on them.
Lucas is driven to see change in the circular economy, whether that comes through recovering more discarded material, finding value in by-products, or reducing how much waste gets generated in the first place.
